Well the weekend was not much different from the week! Not often you hear that.
Friday evening and we attempted our first virtual Scout night. It actually worked not too bad. Managed to have a bit of a laugh and try some activities. Working on next weeks session already. Was going to have a bingo game but I will adjust it so that its Scouty themed ie items you take on a hike, camping etc. Even more impressive was one of my assits joining in, he’s 89!
Finally got round to doing some work in the garden, and work that I have been wanting to do for years! We have hedges on both sides of our Garden that are getting taller despite me trimming them every year. I have now cut my half down of one hedge to about my eye level, so that I dont need to use ladders when trying to cut them.
The hedge on the other side is next, but the neighbour has a fence that has a wave effect, my decision is do I try and follow the wave with the hedge or just cut the hedge to the lowest point? Leave a comment below if you have any thoughts on it. Remember my skills with a trimmer are not the best!
Grass got its first trim of the year as well, and with bored kids it was very easy to get them involved.
I popped out to do some shopping on Saturday, and was expecting a few queues however Sainsburys had about a five minute wait outside but had everything I was looking for. Some people have still not got the idea of social distancing yet!
One item that did surprise me is that the Town Centre have closed areas off and are funnelling people through the Princess Mall. They have closed the Olympia from SpecSavers right upto Sainsburys. I would have thought in a time that we are trying to encourage social distancing that they would have had many different routes available. Instead you have to go through the Princess Mall where you cant stay 2 meters away from people because of all the stalls down the middle, plus you have people queueuing to get into the likes of Home Bargins, Farm Food and Iceland. Then you have to go up a 2 meter ramp to get upto the Sainsburys.
